PERSONAL STATEMENT

​

I am an aspiring Garment Technologist with a key interest in Pattern Cutting and Luxury Womenswear. Experimental within my work and push boundaries when thinking about how textiles and print can be applied to fashion.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES

Pattern Cutting and Manufacture Skills- Including amending and altering patterns, adapting blocks to create a desired design, cutting fabric on the bias, adding zips, pockets and fastenings and working with a variety of fabrics. 
Advanced Sewing Machine Skills – Domestic, Industrial, Buttonhole, Over-locker
Computer Skills including Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook and competent when working with InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop

INTERNSHIPS

Mother of Pearl – May 2019- August 2019

Studio Assistant internship for a luxury womenswear brand based in London who focus on sustainability. Roles included Pattern drafting, assisting with fitting of toiles, hand finishing samples and creating lay plans. Oversaw the training of new interns which highlighted skills in management and teamwork.

Rapport Stamford (Independent Clothing Shop) – Assisting on the shop floor, helping customers, processing purchases at the till, handling cash, displaying the shop floor, PART TIME WEEKEND WORK
Yours Clothing – Assisting a fashion stylist on a campaign and website photoshoot for the YOURS Clothing website. Tasks involved: styling outfits using a selection of clothes as part of a photoshoot, steaming garments in preparation for them to be photographed. I was also involved in the styling of the shoots including pinning garments into place in order to best represent the clothes desired look. PART TIME WORK EXPERINCE
Rutland Sewing- Shop Assistant, my role included preparing fabrics and pattern pieces for sewing classes, displaying the shop floor and making samples for classes and shop display. JULY 2015- NOVEMBER 2025
